Finance/HR Manager

We are seeking a Finance/HR Manager to join our team and to support and learn from the Finance/HR Director in all aspects of the department.  This is a full time exempt position with benefits.

Austin Partners in Education (APIE) is an education nonprofit that delivers innovative programs designed to improve student academic performance. APIE provides an avenue for local organizations to become school partners and for community volunteers to serve as mentors and volunteers in schools across Austin ISD.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Support bi-weekly payroll
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly
  • Responsible for onboarding new employees and updating information
  • Produce financial reports upon request
  • Maintain records and files
  • Participate in the annual financial audit
  • Responsible for administrative tasks
  • Maintain supply inventory
  • Serve as employee benefits advisor & advocate
  • Other related duties as assigned
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • One to three years’ bookkeeping experience, preferably with a non-profit
  • Proven proficiency with Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analyzing and managing data
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Exhibits strong initiative and problem solving ability
  • Strong communication skills; verbal & written
  • Professional and ethical
  • Ability to handle fiscal information with sensitivity and integrity
  • A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate are a must
Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced degree or CPA certification
  • Experience with Abila MIP Accounting Software
  • Non-profit experience

The compensation range for this position is $50,000 – $53,000 annually and is based upon the successful candidate’s education, skills, experience, and potential for contribution towards the mission of Austin Partners in Education.
