APIE Math Classroom Coaching and Mentoring Programs

Volunteer registration for Math Classroom Coaching will reopen in August or September 2025.

Our volunteers commit to the entire school year. This provides students with consistency, so they have a higher number of sessions with the same volunteer. If you can only volunteer for one semester, please still sign up!

Since our founding in 2004, APIE has recognized the positive impact quality mentorship has on young peoples’ wellbeing and pathways to success. Throughout the years, we have connected thousands of students with caring volunteer mentors from our community.

Unfortunately, due to funding cuts and shifts in AISD’s most needed areas of support, APIE has decided to discontinue our mentoring program for the upcoming school year.

For anyone interested in mentoring, we recommend signing up with our dedicated community partners:

Communities In Schools of Central Texas (CIS) offers a variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities, including one-on-one mentoring, academic support, and group engagement activities, all designed to help students thrive in school and beyond. With flexible options and campuses across Central Texas, there’s a way for everyone to get involved. Learn more and sign up at ciscentraltexas.org/volunteer

Seedling is a school based mentoring program exclusively serving students who have an incarcerated parent or parent figure. Mentors meet at school, during the students lunch and are 100% supported by an assigned Seedling Mentor Director for the life of the match. We ask for a minimum 1 school year commitment from the time of matching until the end of the school year.  Learn more and sign up at seedlingmentors.org/mentor

Yes, you will need to sign up each year for APIE’s Math Classroom Coaching program.

We prefer that Math Classroom Coaches commit to an entire school year. However, if you can only commit to one semester (fall or spring), please sign up!
