Para la mayor\u00eda de nosotros, leemos como respiramos. No tenemos la voluntad consciente de inhalar y exhalar. Tampoco notamos nuestro procesamiento cognitivo de letras, sonidos y significados. Sin embargo, existe una progresi\u00f3n espec\u00edfica en el desarrollo de habilidades que debe negociarse al aprender a leer. Primero viene la asociaci\u00f3n de sonidos a letras. Luego, el ni\u00f1o aprende a encadenar sonidos para pronunciar las palabras; \u00bfrecuerdas &quot;Hooked on Phonics&quot;? Las diferencias en el aprendizaje, la adquisici\u00f3n del idioma ingl\u00e9s e incluso la falta de modelos de lectura en casa pueden afectar la capacidad de un ni\u00f1o para negociar eficazmente este paso del desarrollo.<\/p>\n<p>Una estrategia de instrucci\u00f3n que apoya el desarrollo de la fluidez en la lectura es leer en voz alta. Escuchar un texto le\u00eddo con la velocidad y la expresi\u00f3n adecuadas, mientras el alumno sigue el texto, le proporciona un modelo de eficacia en la lectura. Leer en voz alta con su estudiante, le permite practicar y copiar el ritmo adecuado, al tiempo que minimiza su aprensi\u00f3n por cometer errores. Finalmente, hacer que su estudiante lea en voz alta por s\u00ed mismo, obliga al cerebro a escuchar, as\u00ed como a ver las palabras en la p\u00e1gina. Uno comenz\u00f3 el a\u00f1o dici\u00e9ndome que odiaba leer en voz alta. Semana tras semana leemos juntos, a veces al un\u00edsono, a veces haciendo que me hagan eco, y a veces leen en voz alta solos. A mediados de a\u00f1o, se fijaron la meta de grabar un libro en CD. Seleccionaron la historia que quer\u00edan grabar y practicamos duro durante 4 semanas, trabajando en el ritmo, la expresi\u00f3n y la entrega fluida. Finalmente lleg\u00f3 el d\u00eda de grabar. Estaban aturdidos de expectativa. Al final de la sesi\u00f3n de grabaci\u00f3n, lo reproducimos. Estaban asombrados y orgullosos de lo que hab\u00edan logrado.<\/p>\n<p>Este a\u00f1o, a trav\u00e9s de la generosa financiaci\u00f3n de IMPACT Austin, nuestro programa &quot;Estrellas de lectura&quot; se ofrecer\u00e1 en los salones de clases de la escuela intermedia, proporcionando 6<sup>th<\/sup> los alumnos tienen la oportunidad de hacer sus propios libros en CD.
