The Salesforce Operations Manager is responsible for managing APIE’s Operations Department. Primary responsibilities include supervising timeliness and accuracy of the organization’s volunteer background check and volunteer opportunity management systems, and the organization and maintenance of APIE’s information technology assets and infrastructure.  This position is also responsible for collaborating with APIE’s Leadership Team to implement long-term, comprehensive strategies to support the capacity and adaptability of the organization, including but not limited to strategic planning and facilitating organizational change by defining strategies and recommendations with respect to Salesforce and information technology standards.

This position provides direct supervision to the Salesforce Specialist in the implementation and documentation of APIE’s systems and business processes, day-to-day operations, and special projects.

This position requires Salesforce database administration experience and a high-level mastery of Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP functions. The ideal candidate can adapt execution strategies based on the organization’s changing needs, and provide excellent customer service to internal and external users with varying degrees of technical knowledge. Experience with database and technology support in an education environment is highly preferred. Duties also include technological support for internal processes, reporting, and administration of Salesforce. A positive attitude, patience, adaptability, a passion for community service and the ability to deal with ambiguity are all requirements. 

 

Austin Partners in Education (APIE) is an education nonprofit that delivers innovative, volunteer-driven programs designed to improve student academic performance. APIE provides an avenue for local organizations to become school partners and for community volunteers to serve as mentors and volunteers in schools across Austin ISD. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations & Technology Manager to join our team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure program operations are of high quality and maximize efficiency using Salesforce.com database
  • Manage background check process in collaboration with external vendor and APIE background check guidelines; making recommendations for final adjudication decisions for volunteers if necessary
  • Evaluate operations activities; make recommendations for and implement improvements
  • Oversee IT operations, and manage related outsourcing and support contracts, including cloud systems, email, PCs, telephone systems, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain live dashboards for internal departments
  • Act as liaison between departments and operations team to understand needs and implement requests
  • Supervise and evaluate operations staff
  • Provide first day training to new employees covering APIE’s technology and IT processes 
  • Assist volunteers with questions relating to background check status, website navigation, volunteer registration, and general APIE questions

Requirements include:
* Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience
* Experience as a Salesforce database user/administrator 
* Proven experience defining and improving business processes and procedures
* Experience with Wordpress/Drupal
* Knowledge of the Austin Independent School District a plus
