The Campus Career Launch Partnership Coordinator reports to APIE's Associate Director and is responsible for leading the development, coordination and execution of all activities related to the Career Launch Mentoring and Internship program for a designated Career Launch campus.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibility:

  • In collaboration with industry partners and Austin ISD, develop the Career Launch Mentoring and Internship program goals, outcomes and evaluation metrics
  • Establish a work plan for the Career Launch Mentoring & Internship Program to include operational details for work-based learning experience that include career mentoring, facility visits, guest speakers, presentations, job shadowing, internships, etc.
  • Serve as the primary contact for campus staff and industry partner representatives
  • Facilitate quarterly Career Launch Mentoring & Internship Advisory Committee meetings
  • Lead the development and management of the Career Launch Mentoring and Internship program in collaboration with Career Launch instructors, industry partner representative/s and lead campus administrator/s
  • Lead the design and execution of mentoring activities focused on career awareness, career exploration and career preparation
  • Work with Austin ISD to identify and implement appropriate online mentoring platform/s for virtual mentoring sessions
  • Collaborate with industry representatives to identify appropriate internship and job shadowing opportunities and develop highly structured work-based learning experiences including learning objectives and student outcomes
  • Develop and maintain systems and processes to execute all activities related to the Career Launch Mentoring and Internship program
  • Coordinate the logistics of career mentoring activities and work-based learning activities
  • Support industry partner/s with recruiting mentors
  • Train and support Career Launch mentors
  • Coordinates with APIE CR staff to provide academic intervention for prospective and current Career Launch students
  • Support student recruitment and outreach efforts at feeder middle schools
  • Ensure program adheres to operational timeline
  • Ensure program activities align to program goals and outcomes
  • Track and document student participation
  • Provide recommendations for future program implementation
  • Provide consistent and timely communication to APIE administration  

Supervision Received: Associate Director 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field preferred
  • Master’s Degree preferred

  • Ability to deliver key information in a clear, concise and logical manner through face-to-face presentations and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of collaboration, creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, collaborative planning, and decision-making processes

  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to foster and grow relationships with teachers, campus administrators, industry partners and students

  • Strong ability to make decisions independently and deliver on commitments to partners
  • Demonstrate knowledge and good judgment in matters dealing with school and student relations
  • Educational training/background in secondary education
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain composure working in stressful situations or unpredictable environments
  • Ability to make decisions with limited information
  • Ability to implement the program in ambiguous environments
