Was mich jedoch immer wieder erstaunt, ist die St\u00e4rke, Ausdauer und Belastbarkeit unserer Studierenden, Mitarbeiter und Freiwilligen. F\u00fcr die Studierenden da zu sein und ihnen zu helfen, erfolgreich abzuschlie\u00dfen, ist unser Anliegen bei APIE. Ob Ermutigung, Mentoring oder Nachhilfe \u2013 wir wissen, dass unsere Programme das Leben der Studierenden positiv beeinflussen.<\/p><p>Ich bin fest davon \u00fcberzeugt, dass unsere Herausforderungen uns st\u00e4rker machen. W\u00e4hrend wir uns an die Einschr\u00e4nkungen und Herausforderungen der Pandemie angepasst haben, hatten wir die M\u00f6glichkeit, unsere Zusammenarbeit mit Studierenden zu \u00fcberdenken und die St\u00e4rken unserer Organisation weiterzuentwickeln.<\/p><p>Gemeinsam haben wir den Sturm \u00fcberstanden und blicken auf bessere Tage. Gemeinsam haben wir uns weiterhin f\u00fcr unsere Sch\u00fcler eingesetzt. Dr. Horton, Pastor der Mount Zion Baptist Church, von seinen Erfahrungen in der Arbeit mit der Gemeinde Austin.<\/em><\/p><p><strong>F: Was hat Ihnen in den letzten schwierigen Jahren Hoffnung oder Freude gegeben?<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>EIN:<\/strong> Es gibt da einiges, aber was mir wirklich Hoffnung und Freude macht, ist der Blick auf die kommende Generation junger Menschen und ihren Mut, sich zu sozialen Themen und Dingen zu \u00e4u\u00dfern, die sie besch\u00e4ftigen. Es ist so erstaunlich, dass wir das erleben, was wir den perfekten Sturm nennen \u2013 die Pandemie, Rassismus, Konfrontationen zwischen der Polizei und bestimmten Gemeinschaften \u2013 und es ist gro\u00dfartig zu sehen, wie 20- und 30-J\u00e4hrige ihre Meinung teilen und im Dialog dar\u00fcber diskutieren, wie wir diese Probleme l\u00f6sen k\u00f6nnen und warum sie immer noch bestehen. Ihr Engagement f\u00fcr soziale und gesellschaftliche Belange gibt mir wirklich Hoffnung.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>F: Warum ist es wichtig, dass sich gemeinn\u00fctzige Organisationen wie APIE f\u00fcr Vielfalt, Gleichberechtigung und Inklusion einsetzen?<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>EIN:<\/strong> Wir alle wachsen mit bestimmten Perspektiven auf, und man wei\u00df erst, was man nicht wei\u00df, wenn man damit konfrontiert wird. Wir lernen, dass wir durch mehr Perspektiven zu besseren Menschen werden. Das Hervorheben dieser unterschiedlichen Perspektiven hilft Menschen, durch die Linse ihrer Kollegen, ihrer Studenten oder Vorstandsmitglieder zu sehen und zu verstehen, wie es ist, in die Fu\u00dfstapfen anderer zu treten. Vielfalt und Inklusion tragen zu einer st\u00e4rkeren Kultur bei; sie helfen uns, einander n\u00e4her zu kommen und zu verstehen, dass wir alle Gemeinsamkeiten haben, uns aber nicht durch Unterschiede trennen lassen m\u00fcssen. Wir k\u00f6nnen die Unterschiede wertsch\u00e4tzen und einander mehr wertsch\u00e4tzen.
