| Volunteer Commitment: |
|
Program meets for 50 minutes once a week during the school day. Volunteers may sign up for a semester, or preferably, a year beginning mid-October 2008 and concluding in early-May 2009 (about 25 sessions total). Volunteers should have some college experience, an enjoyment of reading, and an interest in working with teens, especially with discussing important or serious issues. Training is provided.

"Working with high school students is rewarding. I like the fact that as a volunteer I did more than read to my students - we talked about what we read." -- Volunteer
"[I enjoyed] challenging the teens to do what they initially thought they could not do, and seeing their faces when they found out they could!" -- Volunteer |
